A Bit About
Me!

| I took guitar lessons for three years
from a Jazz guitarist, Stu Pierce, in the 'windy city" of Chicago in the
early 1950's. Kennedy Jones, Sr.(one of the original "Thumb Pickers")
was also a great influence on my playing style.
My first 'gig' was at the age of 18 in Chicago, in a three piece band. For many years after that I played in several bands, mainly Country music, but also a little of all styles of music. In 1989 I purchased my first MIDI equipment, a Solton TS 4 Sound module. Subsequently moved up to the MS4 and then the MS40. In 1993 I sequenced my first discs for the Solton Sound Module, and about the same time converted to using a PC and MIDI Software which allowed me to create sequences for the internet community. In 1996 Benny Shepherd found one of my sequences on the Net and sent me an e-mail asking if I had more, and could he put them on his home page for the world to enjoy. I replied "yes" and "thanks". The rest, as they say, is history. Currently I play for dances as a duo with my wife, Heather, who operates the midi gear on stage, sings harmony on the vocals, and in short lends a bit of class to the act. Our home is in North Dakota but we are "snowbirds" migrating to Arizona from October through April. Most of the time we live in a self-converted MCI-5 Greyhound bus. What a life! We love it!

from the MidiStudio webmaster:
I must confess that I was never much of a County Music fan, however after discovering Dick's sequences several months ago, that has all changed. It was apparent from the first song I heard, that this man put his soul into his work and was capable of playing a large variety of styles from Jazz to real hurtin' Country. This was our reason for choosing Dick as our first Guest Artist. Les
