MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS..
1.) I would like to have the background music on my Home Page continue to play while other pages are viewed. 2.) I have a submit button for a form on the home page and whenever the form is submitted the MIDI starts playing over at the beginning. How can I avoid this? The character of the <EMBED> or <BGSOUND> elements are such that they are invoked every time the page loads. Clicking on ANY Link, automatically re-loads the same page or a new page. If the same page is re-loaded the midi file starts playing over from the beginning. There is NO WAY to avoid this! The ONLY alternative is to have the embedded midi file (or a script to play continuous midi files) located in a very small frame which will not distract from your main page. CLICK HERE for an example of how this works and how it appears to the viewer. Please notice the common courtesy of providing the name of the Sequencer and a link to his/her site, when known. Don't forget the TARGET="_top" in that external link. I think you will agree that a frame set used in this manner is very inconspicuous and solves the problem. The ONLY other problem may be that a viewer does not have a frames enabled browser. In such cases, they can not listen to an embedded midi file either. The frame set has been constructed to provide an alternate link to your home page under these circumstances. You can
download
the complete demo in a .zip file which should be self-explanatory.
Note that the frame constructor is named "index.html" which would replace
your own index page. Please unzip into a directory or folder other
than the one in which you now have your home page. Make a copy of
your home page and to work with this demo, rename it "HomePage.html".
Once you fully understand the operation, rename files as required and place
the new frame constructor and new home page in the working directory for
your site.
